Fashion Journalist & Broadcaster

British-based freelance fashion journalist, broadcaster and copy writer, Julia Robson works across global publications including The National (UAE), Grazia, Instyle, Elle and national newspapers including Daily Telegraph titles, The Daily Mail and e-magazine, Handbag.com. A former weekly columnist on international fashion for The National, the English national newspaper of the United Arab Emirates, and Associate Lecturer at the University of the Arts and The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) overseas programme in London, the former deputy fashion editor of The Daily Telegraph, and fashion editor of The Sunday Mirror, graduated from Central St Martins with a first class honours degree in fashion
She is also a regular ‘frockwatching’ guest on Sky News (during Oscars) and BBC Radio 4 (Woman’s Hour). Recent commissions include covering the French haute couture season (July 2011) for Telegraph.com site and haute couture shows for The National (since 2008); and editorship of a magazine (August 2012) written by detainees at a women’s prison in a collaborative project for University of the Arts (funded by Sir John Cass’s foundation).


 Julia currently contributes to London Fashion Week’s The Daily, the newspaper of LFW.


Julia worked on the concept and launch of the Next online site (2005/6) and does copywriting/guest blogging for several high street/designer websites including Boden and Matches. Special project clients include George at Asda (working on corporate events with Colleen Rooney) and Tesco F&F (Eastern Europe); styling/coordinating ‘reader’ events (Woman & Home; MaxMara) and developing Press product look books/Press shows (Boden, Grattan, Breast Cancer Care).

 

Recent published fashion features include The Sunday Telegraph’s Stella magazine, Telegraph Saturday magazine, The Financial Times, The Daily Telegraph (Luxury Supplement); The Daily Mail; Matches, Country and Town House magazine (interview with Sophie Dahl); British Airways First Life (interview with Tom Ford).

Sessions
