The British Independent Retailers association (Bira) represent thousands of independent retailers across the UK. They are solely focused on the retail sector and support businesses from all sectors including hardware and DIY, cookshop and housewares, fashion, pet products, health food, cafes and eateries, and garden centres, agriculture and garden machinery.

Industry representation

Working as the voice of independent retail businesses, Bira fight for a level playing field for the independent sector. They influence media and challenge Government legislation with the sole aim of keeping our UK high streets diverse and lively. They provide support on key areas of strain like business rates, parking and staffing.
