Libby Ballard Ceramics
The sea and coastal landscapes are the main inspirations for my ranges. I use a speckled stoneware clay and a blend of glazes to create landscapes and textures within my products. I throw each piece individually on the potters wheel and glaze them so each piece is truly unique! Practicality and comfort is really important to me when making my tableware. I like all my pieces to be comforting to use, so that they add to your whole dining experience each time you use them. I believe it is so important to enjoy food and what you are eating and why shouldn't this go right through to what you eat and drink from?
The sea and coastal landscapes are the main inspirations for the Coastal Home Range. Having been brought up on the Isle of Wight and Studied by the sea in Brighton this carries through within all my work.
The work is made so that every customer knows they have a unique and one off piece. Due to the hand made nature each piece will have its own character.
My latest range is the Sea View range ?inspired by moments in time on the British coast. Catching that perfect misty morning when no one else is around or sharing a midnight moment with a loved one.
The new range is made with my new luxurious glaze recipes, which are a blend of shiny and semi matt glazes. They give beautiful line blends of colour and will always be unique!
