How to make “buøy”?

How to make “buøy”?

Buøy is made of 100% marine debris. ”Who pick up the material for buøy?”

That’s Volunteer workers.

In Japan, you can see tons of marine debris because of the currents and westerlies. Volunteer workers have kept picking up marine debris washed up all around Japan every time the shore gets dirty behind our back. Therefore we would like customers to know their existence.

We cannot mold the marine debris they picked up as it is. So the marine debris is sent to a welfare institution where handicapped persons work. In the welfare, they pulverize it into pellets in a crusher and pack them for use as material. And then, marine debris is sent to the buøy factory.

We do not mass produce, so all of our products are individually produced by hand. There are people who melt and mold the pellets, finish touch on the products with a box cutter, and wrap them nicely one by one.

We believes that the root of the problem lies in the habit of mass-production and mass-consumption, and aims to create one-of-a-kind, craft-like products that will not be thrown away any more.

Enjoy our products that are full of many people’s passion!
