GUZZINI LIGHT COLLECTION

All the simplest, most beautiful things happen in the light. The entry of a new life into the world, the ray of sunlight that comes in through the window every morning to announce a new day, looking into someone's eyes, and the evening moment when we look back over the day's memories in the warm glow of a small lamp. Light gives strength to our secrets and our wishes, light embraces the challenge of building new stories. We never envisage light on its own. It is always together with people, creating new, happy rites and relationships. We use it to build new worlds and it accompanies us through our spaces and our needs. With light, we can see where there was once just a wall of darkness, in time and space.
In 2018, Fratelli Guzzini is presenting its own lamp collection. But not just any lamps: these are objects which imply experiences, gained each time they are used. Every product is an opportunity to exercise freedom: contemporary consumers make purchases not for decoration but as the source of new opportunities to relate to people and space, so that every object becomes an experiential environment in its own right, with ever-changing functions. This gives us lighting fixtures which reflect this new mobile, dynamic, variable approach to home living, and as a consequence every product is multi-purpose, adaptable, ubiquitous and portable. The project is starting with four collections: Tiffany and Filigrana designed by Pio and Tito Toso, fine interpreters of the brand's design identity in recent years, Soirèe by Marco Merendi and Diego Vencato and, finally, a new edition of the 1966 Zurigo lamp by Luigi Massoni. Designs conceived for a wide variety of uses, sometimes even on the move, innovative production technologies, light sources chosen on the basis of unique expertise, and customised configurations, all give meaning and specific character to the individual products and make them truly interesting, as they introduce new worlds and modes of use into the way we live with light.
