With a surname like Drew it suggests it was Ilona’s destiny to be creative, starting her career at a greetings card publishers designing cards for the high street she then moved to a publishers on the south coast and relocated to Brighton. In 2009 Ilona went freelance and began working under the name I Drew This.

Ilona’s colourful takes of iconic Landmarks around the country has meant she has been fortunate to have worked on commissions with Harrods, Greenwich Observatory, Brighton i360, the Museum of London and Network Rail.

Alongside this Ilona runs her publishing business supplying some amazing retailers including John Lewis, Waitrose, The Shard, St Pauls, Kew Gardens and many small independent business’ throughout the UK. Recently in November 2023 she opened the doors to her bricks and mortar store in the heart of Brighton selling prints, cards, gorgeous gifts and homewares.

Inspired by her surroundings, the simple sweet things in life and of course her love of travel, Ilona’s pieces often start with mixed media and just one block of colour. Her artwork is uplifting, bursting with joy and originality taking you on a wonderfully colourful adventure.

As her creative journey continues to evolve Ilona feels incredibly lucky to have touched so many people and welcomes feedback from her customers. The commissions she receives are often for brands or individuals seeking bespoke murals, artwork, interior displays and prints for products and textiles.
