The Gilded Age Letterpress cards 2026 Collection
A6 Letterpress and some foiled cards with Kraft envelopes.
The engraved images of the 18th and 19th Centuries have always fascinated me.
They have always made me feel a happiness and a sadness about how things have changed and progressed but yet we as human beings are still the same. The same problems, the same expressions in the faces and the same capacity for wonder and joy.
I have long had my eye on working with with William Hogarths superb engraved images of life in the Eighteenth Century.
This opportunuty has come along at long last and I am thrilled to include some of these images in my 2026 collection. He is in good company with an image by Gustav Durer and a few other engraving artists of the era. I have reproduced in letterpress some of these images in a medium true to the original works and some with a modern twist and a bit of humour.
