We sell handwoven goods from Bolga, North Ghana. Our collections include shopping, beach and storage baskets; fans; bowls; laundry baskets; Moses and baby changing baskets; dog and cat beds; and planters. We work directly with our weavers, avoiding middlemen and thus ensuring ethical, economically and environmentally sustainable production. Our mission is to provide high-quality woven products to our customers while bringing about meaningful change for our weavers. Our founding director and our Ghanaian sourcer Pokka, from the Bolga region, both work closely with the weaving community to improve product quality and access to the market and unlock higher financial returns for the weaver communities. Our weavers receive over 40% of the sales alongside money going towards the building of an indoor weaving space, providing wheelchairs for older weavers and sourcing improved colour dyes.
Our baskets are made from locally grown Veta Vera grass and have real leather goat handles made by tanners in the same Bolga region. These natural materials, making them a perfect alternative to plastic bags and other un-eco friendly homeware. Each basket is handmade and we do not restrict our weavers in colour or pattern, so each is truly unique. As we work directly with our weavers, we can do custom designs for you.
