CEO and co-founder Holly McMullen discovered the beauty and potential of traditional African textiles on a life-changing road trip from South Africa to Nairobi in 2006— a passion that later evolved into a business with a mission.
What started as a dream during Holly’s fashion design studies became a decade-long journey to build a brand that empowers women, supports rural economies, and connects global homes with authentic African craftsmanship.
Today, The Basket Room is proud to be the UK’s home of African woven baskets, inspiring interior designers, stylists, and conscious consumers around the world.
